Trump's bank deregulation move slammed

President Trump has ordered a review of one of the most important US regulations introduced in the aftermath of the global financial crisis in 2008.

The Dodd-Frank Act placed major restrictions on the ability of US banks to speculate on the financial markets and gave regulators the power to break up institutions deemed 'too big to fail'. Critics claim it created red tape that stifles the industry.

But former Democratic congressman Barney Frank - who along with Senator Chris Dodd - wrote the law, rejects the criticism. Mr Frank tells us that Donald Trump's claim that the law is "a disaster" is not based on fact.
