Kola Karim: Prices, politics and polo
Everything in Nigeria hinges on the recovery of oil prices, which in turn will boost the government's revenues and stimulate spending on infrastructure and other areas of the economy. So, for the country to get back in step, global markets will have to improve and the Nigerian government will need to "saddle up" by introducing the right policies.
Kola Karim is a renowned Nigerian businessman and investor. He is also a lover of horses, playing for the country's national polo team. He says that while his company, Shoreline Energy, has suffered through the economic turbulence, Nigeria has the potential to see unbridled economic growth (although some problems need to be reined in).
The 大象传媒鈥檚 Lerato Mbele visited him at the Lagos Polo Club, where he drew some lessons from the sport.
