Ron and Russell Mael are looking forward to playing the 6 Music Festival

Sparks are one of the most unique bands around - formed way back in 1971 Los Angeles in 1971 by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals) they've sauntered down their own path ever since, - blending pop with art, rock with opera and enjoying hits like

"The Number One Song in Heaven"
Amateur Hour"
"Beat the Clock"
"This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us"

If you remember band also released an album with Franz Ferdinand, as the supergroup FFS in 2015 - which was a fine collection of tunes

And the band have a new album coming out called Hippoptamus which will be there 22nd album!

Matt Everitt sat down with Ron and Russell to find out more about the record and how they feel about playing the 6 Music Festival.
