End of the Waldorf Salad?
New York's legendary Waldorf Astoria hotel is closing its doors for a two year facelift. Its guest rooms and ballrooms have been the playground of the world's elite for more than eight decades, hosting presidents, royalty and the biggest celebrities. But when it re-opens, most of the building will have been converted into apartments. Alex Ritson takes up the story.
