Verbal guarantees on Brexit Bill 'not enough'
Labour Leader in the Lords: government commitments must be on the face of the Bill.
This week, peers will continue the debate on the triggering of Article 50 - the formal process by which the UK will start to leave the EU.
Baroness Smith says any government promises must be written into the bill, and not simply verbal guarantees.
The Labour Leader in the Lords said: "We all remember when Alf Dubs spoke to then Theresa May when she was Home Secretary on the child refugees, took a number out of his amendment to get it through because the government gave him guarantees. Look what has happened there."
