Shoreham victim's nephew 'appalled' by regulations
A Reading University student discusses the Shoreham Air Crash, in which is uncle died.
Oliver Morris, a Reading University student whose Uncle died in the Shoreham Air Crash, has been speaking about the findings of an investigation into the tragedy.
A report, released on Friday, said pilot errors were to blame for the crash.
"The key thing that we are appalled with and not satisfied with is the regulations around air shows. They're not stringent enough, they're not enforced enough, and this is how you get things like what has happened here".
"The ruling confirms our suspicions on what caused the crash, but until the CAA [Civil Aviation Authority] have adopted the recommendations proposed by the AAIB [Air Accidents Investigation Branch] and what will be proposed by the Coroner - no, we don't have closure, certainly not for my family.
"We have been trying to get back to normality, but as time has gone on, our attention has turned to the investigation, it has turned to why this has happened and how it could happen, and I don't see an end in sight for it all either.
"It's human instinct [to feel let down], but for the wider public, as long as the CAA recognise the clear flaws in their regulations and act upon them, then for the future, that's what needs to happen".
