Casting Director: I love Sam... 'but he is wrong'
The actor Samuel L Jackson has raised questions about the number of black British actors getting roles playing Americans.
In an interview earlier in the week Mr Jackson referred to a film called Get Out in which a British actor Daniel Kaluuya plays an African-American who suffers racism. Samuel L Jackson says the film could have benefited from having an American actor in the role who would have more empathy with the role.
Ben Cogan worked as a casting director at the 大象传媒 for 15 years, he told Eddie Mair he thought Samuel Jackson was wrong. The whole process an actor goes through "is to find the character, that's the journey".
