Reviving the American dream?

How President Trump鈥檚 plans to cut government spending will play with his core supporters. And we learn something about the relationship between the president and the governator.

President Trump submits his budget to Congress next week. He wants to spend MUCH more on the military. To pay for that it looks like he'll cut lots of government programmes, particularly ones that help the poor. How will that play with his core supporters? The answer may surprise you.

President Trump's promise to his supporters is to bring back the kinds of jobs and affluence that American working men and women enjoyed decades ago. To do that he says he'll make better trade deals for the US. This week his top trade advisors have made no secret of the fact the Trump administration has a very different approach to trade negotiations from previous US governments.

Plus, why is the lion of Wall Street so outspoken in his praise of Donald Trump? And we learn something about the relationship between the president and the governator.

The 大象传媒's business editor, Simon Jack, North America business correspondent Michelle Fleury and economics editor Kamal Ahmed discuss how Donald Trump's White House is taking the country in a different economic direction.
