Cheltenham: Buveur D'Air win caps brilliant first day for Henderson

Nicky Henderson's Assistant Toby Lawes says today at Cheltenham will be one to remember.

Seven Barrows in Lambourn, where Nicky Henderson trains, has produced two winners on the first day of Cheltenham with Altior and Buveur D'Air.

His assistant Toby Lawes said: "It has been absolutely magnificent, such a memorable day. Altior was magnificent, and Buveur D'Air and My Tent... what an incredible feat."

Lawes also wanted to stress that, despite the success Henderson has had over the years, the first day of Cheltenham 2017 will be up there "without a doubt".

"To have a one-two in the Champion Hurdle...you just couldn't even imagine it," he added.
