In 1944 Eva Kor and her family were taken from their family home in Romania and transported to the the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Both of her parents and two older sisters were killed at the camp. Along with her twin sister she was subjected to human experimentation under Josef Mengele, but remarkably they both managed to survive. She received international attention when she publicly forgave the Nazis for what had been done to her and has dedicated her later life to talking to those who hurt her during the Holocaust.
