Maidenhead United: Canoville reflects on his time as a Magpie

Former Maidenhead winger Paul Canoville reflects on his time at York Road in early 1990s.

The Chelsea and Reading winger made the switch to non-league after a serious injury whilst playing for the Royals in the 1980s, and is happy the club gave him a chance to carry on playing.

"Maidenhead gave me an opportunity, gave me the chance," he told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Ady Williams. "We had some good times, they were a good set of fans they had there, it was a difficult league at the time.

"I enjoyed it...because it reminded me of, obviously, where I started off [in non-league football]."

He was also full of praise for the current boss Alan Devonshire.

"He's been doing a great job...Alan Devonshire has had the experience of being at West Ham and he's brought that to the club.

"Winning every week, week in week out, it's a great feeling, definitely a great feeling."
