Hour 2 is a special tribute documentary to Eddie Cochran, who died in Bath Hospital on Easter Saturday, 17 April 1960, after a road accident in Chippenham. He was on his way up to Heathrow to fly home at the end of a highly successful UK tour. (His last ever concert being at the Bristol Hippodrome the night before).
Got lots of name musicians who worked with Eddie on that tour, providing their memories.
Plus Beatles Paul & George talk about his influence on them in their early days.
In fact, Eddie indirectly played a key role in the formation of The Beatles, although of course, he would never know:-
When Paul first met John Lennon at a church fete in Liverpool in 1957 and knew all the chords and words, to one of Eddie`s songs, John was so impressed he asked him to join his band.....the rest is BIG history!
Paul tells the story of that historic meeting and George Harrison remembers seeing Eddie on stage in Liverpool.
Also, with the sad passing of veteran Radio 2 presenter Brian Matthew this week, his voice will also be heard, by way of a tribute.
Brian hosted the long-running 大象传媒 Light Prog pop show `Saturday Club` and Eddie was a guest.
