Music and memories: Marion and Fiona
It was a diagnosis of cancer that brought Marion, a former nun, and Fiona, a retired senior civil servant together. They met in 2010 on a fundraising trek to Santiago de Compostela for the Fountain Centre in Surrey. Fiona recalls a childhood marked with musical milestones at significant moments, whilst Fiona feels that spending a large chunk of her adult life in a convent means she will never be able to understand the musical and cultural connections that many of her friends have made.
