Black holes inspire artists
An exhibition has opened in Edinburgh that explores the boundaries between art and science.
"Contemporary Connections" is part of the capital's international science festival.
Among the scientific projects inspiring the art are the simulation of black holes using lasers - and research into Scotland's very own coral reef in the Western Isles.
The organisers aim to prove that - just like art - science can be creative and beautiful.
