Queen opens new elephant centre
The Queen has opened the new Centre for Elephant Care at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire.
Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh met keepers at the zoo and elephants Kayleigh, Donna and Luca.
The 拢2m centre at Whipsnade includes more than 700 sq m (7,500 sq ft) of indoor space, and a new viewing platform.
The youngest of the zoo's nine-strong herd of Asian elephants is eight-month-old calf Elizabeth, named after the Queen in recognition of her 90th birthday last year.
