'I no longer have to chose between heating or eating'
New roofs, which harvest heat from the sun, are being put on social houses in Dorset and north Devon. It uses a roof covering to create energy - and has meant the Poole resident, Sophie, can now afford to pay her bills. There are plans to expand the scheme - where social housing providers and inventors work together - in other areas of the South West - which has one of the highest proportions of households in fuel poverty in England.
