SNP launch local election manifesto
The SNP has launched its manifesto for the local council elections in May.
Party leader Nicola Sturgeon visited a community arts centre in Edinburgh where she said her councillors would invest in education, support small businesses and protect services from cuts implemented by the Conservatives.
Ms Sturgeon urged voters to focus on local issues with a general election looming in June. She said: "A vote for the SNP in this election is a vote to protect local services.
"We must not allow local services to fall into the hands of the Tories."
