Reading FC: Mills remembers the lowest point of his career
Former Royals captain Matt Mills says the 2011 play-off defeat was difficult to swallow.
The Reading FC captain for the last Royals play-off campaign reflects on how he experienced "the lowest point in his career."
"From the neutral it was probably one of the best play-off finals of all time," Mills told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "To captain the team on the day was probably one of the biggest honours in my career.
"The result didn't go our way in the end, which is probably the lowest point in my career, losing that game."
And Mills says that the result in the final could have gone the other way with a slice of luck.
"I've spoken to Swansea players since, years on from that final, and they really thought the tie was going to slip away from them.
"I was immensely proud of everybody within the squad, the staff, it's just a fantastic club to play for, and it was a great experience I'll never forget."
