A mathematician who helped crack Nazi code at Bletchley Park during WW2 is being recognised 100 years on from his birth.

Bill Tutte's success in helping breaking the code of the German High Command was on a par with that of Alan Turing's, yet he received no recognition from the government during his lifetime.

Born in Newmarket, Suffolk, on 14 May 1917, Bill Tutte demonstrated a phenomenal grasp of mathematics from an early age.

Bletchley Park has opened a new exhibition about the mathematician. There will also be a series of lectures exploring his life and works.
