5 live spoke to a troupe of performers who say housing is the biggest issue for them in the upcoming general election.

Gabrielle, 25, says buying a house was the hardest process she鈥檚 been through, while Carly, 23, says keeping up with the cost of renting means buying is a long way off.

鈥淚 can鈥檛 afford to move out on my own, even the smallest of studios are expensive, so houseshares are really the only option,鈥� said Carly.

鈥淭he problem is that rent is already high anyway, but when you add on bills and tax, there are months where I鈥檓 not sure how I am going to keep up,鈥� added Emily, 26.
