Only remaining member of Churchill's secret army in Dorset given defence medal
Jack Northover was one of Churchill's Secret Army. Groups of Home Guard soldiers who were trained to protect in the event of a German invasion - and who were expected to give up their lives if necessary.
He's the only remaining member of his eight-man unit.
On Saturday the Wrackleford Auxiliary Unit were honoured with a memorial at Stratton, near Dorchester. And, before the ceremony, Jack - and relatives of three of the other eight members - received The World War 2 Defence Medal - which they weren't expecting.
