Diabetes-sniffing cat is 'lifeline'
Charlie is a remarkable rescue cat - the feline equivalent of a sniffer dog.
The 20-year-old moggy has been hailed a "lifeline" by owner Kirsty Furness, from Stevenage, after Charlie proved he was able to "smell" the symptoms of her type 1 diabetes.
He can detect a fall in her blood sugar at night and alerts her by tapping on her face and meowing until she wakes up, Ms Furness, 28, says.
