Over 900 live music events took place and the theme this year was the power of music.
Texas and the 大象传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra performed a free concert for a thousand fans at Glasgow鈥檚 Barrowlands.

大象传媒 Local Radio and The British Plaque Trust unveiled 47 new plaques celebrating some of the UK鈥檚 most iconic musicians and venues. Plaques commemorated David Bowie in London, Dr Who composer Delia Derbyshire in Coventry and broadcaster John Peel in Suffolk.
Ten Pieces, the 大象传媒鈥檚 classical music initiative, joined the 大象传媒 Music Day festivities with over 100,000 pupils in more than 500 schools across the UK taking part in special Ten Pieces music assemblies. And children north and south achieved new musical world records.
Ozzy Osbourne, Shaun Ryder, Alfie Boe and Miles Kane took over the tram announcements in UK cities, surprising passengers on their daily commute.
Bell ringing groups around the world united to ring bells at 7pm local time in support of 大象传媒 Music Day. This included bell-ringers from as far afield as Zimbabwe, Australia and Botswana.
Celebrations around the UK included a thousand musicians performing over 24 hours in Sheffield, Sgt. Pepper festivities in Liverpool and a 大象传媒 Music Day award for the brass band that best illustrated the theme of the power of music.
