Fred Talbot 'organised trips to abuse boys'
Former TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been sentenced to four years in jail for seven sex offences against schoolboys during the 1970s and 1980s.
The abuse occurred during school trips, to the south of Scotland and Caledonian Canal, when Talbot worked as a teacher.
Sentencing him, Sheriff Nikola Stewart said he had "grossly abused the trust" placed in him and said the pattern of offending indicated he had organised the trips to abuse the teenage boys in his care.
Talbot is currently serving a sentence in England for assaults on two other boys while he was a teacher.
