Sir Ken Knight: Holistic view of fire safety needed
There will be a public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower disaster, which has so far left 17 people dead.
Investigations in to previous fatal tower block fires have recommended the fitting or retrofitting of sprinklers.
Sir Ken Knight, the government's Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser from 2007 until 2013, told Radio 4's PM programme that although sprinklers were the answer in some cases a more "holistic look at fire safety" was needed.
