Local council has 'key role' after disaster
Protesters demanding help for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire have stormed Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall.
Former head of the Cabinet Office's Civil Contingencies Secretariat Mike Granatt told Radio 4's PM programme the local council "should have been out there listening to people".
He said they are "the main body in terms of handling the aftermath in terms of the humanitarian response".
Mr Granatt added that "if you do not relieve the pressure of peoples' emotions you get a kettle" and that's what you're seeing at the Town Hall.
