Royals centre-back Liam Moore thinks the short summer is a help rather than a hindrance.

Due to the play-off final, the Reading FC players only had four weeks between the end of last season and the start of this one.

"It was a short break," Moore told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "The lads look fresh, it was more of a mental break than anything.

"The bodies are good, the lads are in good condition."

And Moore has high aims for the coming season.

"You always want to improve, we have showed we can be right up there.

"We learnt a lot along the way last season, and let's try and put that straight back into action this season."
