Did social media make a difference to the Charlie Gard campaign?
The parents of 11-month old Charlie Gard are now spending their "last precious moments" with their terminally ill little boy. It's been a heart- breaking case, that's captivated the world. Charlie's parents have now ended their legal battle to take him to the US for experimental treatment after an American Doctor who'd flown over to examine Charlie, told them it was now too late to treat him. The judge at the High Court yesterday pointed to the "pit-falls" of social media - when such an emotive and complex case goes viral and the "watching world feels entitled to express opinions". But did any of that help Charlie Gard and his family? Caller Shakela says she sympathises with the parents, as she has also been through a similar experience.
