Damian Barr champions Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City novels for Front Row's Queer Icons series.
Tales of the City is a series of nine novels chronicling life in San Francisco from the 1970s to now.
Damian Barr is a writer whose books include Maggie & Me, a memoir of growing up in Scotland during the Thatcher years.
Radio 4's dramatised version of Tales of the City is available on the 大象传媒 iPlayer and will be broadcast on Radio 4 Extra from Mon 31 July.
