Gay parents

Sarah Hagger-Holt and David Ledain on being a gay parent in the UK today; Sue Elliott-Nicholls talks to parents knocked off pedestal

The LGBT charity Stonewall estimates there are more than 20,000 children in the UK growing up in families with same鈥搒ex parents. Changes in social attitudes, the law and medical technology mean that more gay people are becoming parents. Emma talks to Sarah Hagger-Holt, a lesbian mum of two and author of 鈥淧ride and Joy鈥 and David Ledain, author of 鈥淕ay Dad鈥 and also a father of two.

Being knocked off your pedestal as a parent, that time when your children would rather be in their rooms alone than in the hub of the family is pretty hard to handle. Sue Elliott-Nicholls spoke to mums and teenagers about where it all goes wrong.
