Botswanans angry over Makwala's dashed hopes
On Tuesday, the Botswanan athlete Isaac Makwala, was prevented from competing in the 400m final at the World Athletics Championships in London. He had been barred from entering the stadium for forty-eight hours in an attempt to control an outbreak of norovirus at the games. The decision came after the sprinter had been tested positive for the illness. But in Botswana the IAAF's decision has been met with shock and anger. Spencer Mogapi is a Botswanan journalist.
