Rescuers have praised the actions of scouts who sought shelter in a remote bothy during deteriorating weather conditions.
The group, aged between 11 and 14, had taken a wrong turn while trekking in the Cairngorms.
Inverness coastguard helicopter located the group near the River Dulnain after they used torches to attract attention.
