Reading Festival: Memories from Lindisfarne to Status Quo
The Reading Festival has been at it's current site for over forty years, and "Sound Machine" owner Adrian Moulton has attended plenty of them.
He joined 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Paul Coia to discuss his memories of the legendary event.
Adrian Moulton:
"We were aware that rock music festivals were the things to go to... they were quite political events, music festivals in those days.
"One has to remember the Reading Festival used to take place in June, Harold Pendelton agreed to put together a three day festival, and it was just a week after the legendary Glastonbury Fayre.
"An awful lot of people came straight in their vans to the Reading Festival.
"My memory of sitting in the arena is constantly being handed leaflets telling us to smash capitalism. For our weekend ticket we'd paid 拢2.50."
