'It is strange busking in front of a panel'

Musicians have traveled from across the country to face judges in the biennial audition for Transport for London. If they win, they get to play on one of the 250 pitches across the capital's tube network.

Reporter Siobhann Tighe went to King's Cross station and met guitarist Nigel Ball who was taking part. He told her it was strange taking part in "the X-Factor-esq" style auditions as "you're busking in front of a panel".

Songwriter and vocal coach Rita Campbell was one of three judges. She said some of the biggest stars like Rod Stewart, Ed Sheeran, and Jessie J are among the stars who have previously busked on the Tube so "people do get spotted and go on to bigger things".
