'Death taxes are not popular, but they should be'
The so-called 'dementia tax' policy is progressive and must be revisited, claims James Kirkup from the Social Market Foundation, a left-of-centre think tank.
During the election campaign, Theresa May came under fire for proposing using people's homes to fund their care costs, and some suggested it lost the party many votes.
In a personal film for the Daily Politics, Mr Kirkup said: "I'm not a Conservative, but I think the policy deserves a second chance."
