Rowing: Graeme Thomas takes 'fairy tale' silver in Florida
The British Rower won silver in the Men's Quadruple Sculls after a late substitution.
As a result of a back injury to Pete Lambert, Graeme Thomas, who was withdrawn from the Olympics squad at the last minute last year, substituted into the boat to help the crew win silver.
"It's sort of a fairy tale," Thomas told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. " I know what it's like to sit on the sidelines.
"[The result] is all theirs really, I was just filler!"
But Thomas' partner Beaumont says there is a slight disappointment the colour of the medal wasn't gold.
"We were here to win a gold medal, and there's no questions about that.
"Even then on the start line with Graeme we were here to win a gold medal."
