Chetan Sharma: How I took the first World Cup hat-trick
30 years ago, a key event occurred in the history of Indian Cricket.
The year was 1987 and the fourth edition of the Cricket World Cup, hosted by India and Pakistan as the event moved away from England for the first time.
India's triumph in 1983 brought fans in droves to the stadia throughout the event, and Kapil Dev's men cruised through the group stages to raise hopes of another success.
During their group match against New Zealand, Chetan Sharma became the first bowler in World Cup history to take a hat-trick. He explained to Stumped exactly how he managed to pull the feat off.
