Rebecca Farthing: The Death of Lennie Small
Rebecca started to play the cello aged 7 and at the age of 11 joined Wells Cathedral School, where she studies composition as well as the cello and piano. She also plays with Wells’s New Music Ensemble, performing other student compositions and contemporary classical music by professional composers such as Judith Weir.
In 2017, Rebecca was selected from hundreds of entrants as one of the winners in the Upper Junior category of the annual ´óÏó´«Ã½ Proms Inspire Competition. Her winning piece, The Death of Lennie Small, was performed by Aurora Orchestra at a Proms Extra event at the ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s Radio Theatre on 14 August 2017.
