A major new project has been launched in London to collect and preserve poems in endangered languages; with the 00th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution approaching, Jamie Coomarasamy has been travelling between St Petersburg and Moscow, talking to a wide range of Russians about their attitudes towards the past and present.
