'Ashley needs to be more like Abramovich'
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley needs to be more like Chelsea counterpart Roman Abramovich, says Times journalist Henry Winter.
Ashley has put the Magpies up for sale, and hopes to conclude a deal by Christmas.
The 53-year-old has been a divisive figure at St James' Park since taking over in 2007, with some supporters regularly protesting about the way the businessman has run the club.
Speaking on 5 live Sport, Winter said he found the mistakes Ashley made 鈥渆xtraordinary鈥.
"All he鈥檚 got to do there is communicate with the fans, go to matches and show he is emotionally engaged with the football,鈥 he said.
鈥淎bramovich, for all his faults, you can see that he feels for Chelsea, he feels for the fortunes of the club - he actually cares about it."
