How loud is an opera singer? | Tomorrow's World

The 大象传媒 Tomorrow鈥檚 World team perform a live experiment to find out just how loud opera singers can sing, from Manchester鈥檚 Museum of Science and Industry.

Lindsey Chapman introduces the experiment, with Trevor Cox - Professor of Acoustic Engineering at the University of Salford - and opera singers Iain Henderson and Monica Bell, who both study at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Professor Cox explains why opera is acoustically so different from pop because it relies on just the natural power of the voice, rather than the use of amplification.

Part of a series of experiments for #OperaPassion Day.
