Care BnB plan is 'not the way forward'
A trial aimed to ease the waiting time for hospital beds by paying local residents to put patients up in their home is not being backed the chair of health select committee.
An Essex NHS Trust is proposing a scheme, dubbed Care BnB, where residents with spare rooms host patients recuperating from hospital for a nightly fee.
Dr Sarah Wollaston said: "This is just random members of the public being asked if they'd like to make some extra money."
During her interview with Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn, the Conservative MP for Totnes was also asked about the cost and ethics of treating those who are obese or smoke.
