Reading FC: Stam 'confident in his position'
Jaap Stam doesn't have any imminent fear of losing his job as Reading manager.
Reading have lost four of their past five games, leaving them only two points above the relegation zone.
"I am confident of my own position," Stam told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I know as well that questions are going to be asked and that's fine because it comes with the territory.
"I like the club to do well, so if the club can find a manager which then they can think he can do a lot better than myself then I'm very happy to say you step in and you do that."
Stam is also confident that the club's owners share the same long term vision of the club.
"The owners are very positive, they're very committed to the club, they want to have progress within the club as well.
"They understand in football how it works, they understand you need to make drastic decisions at times as well."
