Striker Sam Smith is looking to seize his first team chance with both hands at Reading.

Smith has started the last two Championship games for the Royals, ahead of their trip to Derby this weekend.

"It's obviously a big step up from the under 23s," Smith told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I'm really enjoying it.

"You adapt and get used to it, and obviously I'm getting bigger and stronger as time goes on."

And Smith admits that Yann Kermorgant has had a big influence on him since he joined the first team.

"Yann's really a big positive for what I'm doing right now.

"I remember the first time I moved into the changing room, he sat me down and asked me what I'm good at, what I need to work on, and gave me loads of advice.

"I do a lot of extras with him, and just learn off him."
