The plant that captures CO2 out of the air

Governments around the world are trying to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in order to limit and prevent climate change.

But in order to meet global climate targets some 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide will also need to be removed from the atmosphere every year.

One option for this is being piloted in Iceland where Climeworks and Reykjavik Energy have started running the first power plant confirmed to produce "negative emissions" - the plant removes more carbon dioxide than it puts out.
