Yemen's civilians pay price of Saudi-led blockade
The United Nations has again appealed to the Saudi-led military coalition to urgently re-open all the sea ports in Yemen, where millions of people face starvation. The coalition recently tightened its blockade after Houthi rebels fired a rocket at the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The three-year-long conflict has resulted in an estimated 10,000 people being killed. Yet this number may soon be dwarfed by the number of deaths caused by severe food insecurity. Jamie McGoldrick is UN humanitarian coordinator in the country.
