Australians vote to legalise same-sex marriage
Australia has voted by a clear majority to legalise same-sex marriage. The prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, says a new law allowing gay marriages will be passed before the end of this year. The struggle for gay equality in Australia has a long history, as Diane Minnis, a long-term activist for LGBTQI rights, has been explaining to Dan Damon. How surprised was she by the vote result?
