Correspondents say many people in the capital, Harare, are hoping for an end to the president's era, while a number of leading members of the ruling ZANU-PF party have said the former rebel leader had come unstuck by seemingly attempting to establish a dynasty. Also: the French President, Emmanuel Macron, invites the Lebanese prime minister, Saad Hariri, and his family to go to France, but stresses that he's not offering political exile, and scientists attempt to cure incurable diseases using gene therapy inside the body.
