Japan has a rapidly aging and shrinking population, but its leader, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is reluctant to address the issue.
Recent attempts to loosen the country's strict immigration policy have failed. And when it comes to refugees, Japan is even less welcoming with only 28 being admitted in 2016.
