A rainbow on the island of Taiwan made news headlines this week. Eye witnesses say it lasted a staggering 8 hours 58 minutes, enough to get scientists at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei very excited, and maybe even break the world record. But beneath the rainbow is another story: fearsome mythical creatures and complex relations with the mainland. Cindy Sui in Taipei has the story.
